“How could you forget 9/11?” I haven’t. But remembering that day does not oblige me to forget the Muslim friends, neighbors, colleagues, and students whose lives bear little resemblance to the caricatures I am being asked to fear. A personal Christian reflection on faith, prejudice, and the people we fail to see when suspicion takes the place of knowledge.
